1. Transformation in Action: New Voices from the Field Videos

Nothing is more powerful than hearing students and educators talk about how Globaloria has transformed their own learning and teaching. This month we have expanded our Voices from the Field series with five new personal videos from Globaloria-WV participants Charles, Trevor, Lisa, Tracee, Randy, Cindy and Patrick.

2. Creating Economic Opportunity: Globaloria Internship Program

Providing professional development and economic opportunities for West Virginia youth is a cornerstone of the Globaloria program. In Spring 2009, the Globaloria internship program will double in size to include four Globaloria graduates, two high school and two community college students. Between them, they will provide in-class and virtual support to the entire Globaloria community. Interns will also assess and develop Flash and Game Design tutorials and create a comprehensive code library. "Globaloria interns gain job experience, build their resumes, and continue to master 21st-century digital literacy skills needed for professional success." says Amber Oliver, Director of Partnerships and Operations. "This is real world learning for real world application."
