The World Wide Workshop relies on its partners to help grow, innovate and expand the Globaloria Program in countries and communities around the world. The Globaloria Partnership comprises the following components:

  1. Access to an open-source platform with a set of simple educational games, tutorials & simulations for young people to play, modify and critique while learning basic game-design skills.
  2. A customizable wiki where community members create, showcase, discuss and collaborate while following a 6-month curriculum using a set of personal and team assignments tailored to the learning goals of any specific community or game-dev club.
  3. A dynamic blog for participants to log their experiences, dialogue, and support one another.
  4. An extensive administrator's interface and tools that enable ongoing personalization and ownership of the platform (website and wiki) for any learning needs and objectives.
  5. Continued 24/7 virtual support from the Globaloria team of experts.
  6. A flexible interface to publish games and tutorials created by the community.

Globaloria Partnership Requirements:

  • Interest and passion for running a class, club, or after-school program for young game designers
  • ALL participants (students, instructors, program administrators) must have access to PCs with High Speed Internet 3-5 times a week (preferably 1-2 hours daily)
  • Internet and Hardware:
    • Reliable High Speed Internet Connectivity
    • Multimedia PCs/Laptops that are reasonably up-to-date (1GHz 32-bit (x86) Processor; 512K RAM; HD with 20GB free space, earphones/speakers, batteries/electricity)
  • Software:
    • Web Browser: IE v6 or FireFox 1.5 (or more recent) with free Flash Reader plug-in Flash Professional 8 software
    • Flash 8 or newer
    • Drawing Program (Photoshop CS3 or Gimp)
    • Text editor for coding (i.e. Notepad)
  • Instructors/Teachers/Coordinators
    • Intermediate English Language Skills
    • Interested in speaking/reading/writing in English
    • Basic computer proficiency skills
    • Experience in web, graphic or game design is a plus (not required)
    • Passionate about hands-on learning and acquiring more advanced technology skills
    • Dedicated to learning the platform and curriculum prior to implementation
    • Committed and available at least 6 hours a week for 6 - 8 months
  • Students
    • Ages 13 and older
    • Basic computer proficiency skills
    • Intermediate English Language skills
    • Desire to learn about technology and game design
